Jealous East

“Bad artists copy. Good artists steal.”

London based abstract artist Julia Noble is hosting a solo exhibition of her work at Jealous East.  Materiality, colour and process are three characteristics that define her work.

The large scale kaleidoscopic works that she has produced took their inspiration from Picasso’s line drawing “Femme a la fleur” which forms the under-drawing for all the works.  Julia Noble works on paper and uses multi-layered processes including line drawing with a sewing machine to create the richly textured pieces.  The title of the exhibition has also been appropriated from Picasso in recognition of the part that his inspiration has played in the creation of the works.
